The MedicalCheck Team is connected on a contractual basis to a business that trades in orthopedic supplies. We have contact with many medical practitioners who make use of the products our firm supply, and in the process we became aware of a particular problem they have with patients who make use of their services, but fail to pay their accounts. Mostly doctors are reluctant to hand unpaid accounts over to attorneys for collection, because although they want payment, they do not want to embarrass and lose clients, and particular to have their clients blacklisted.
We identified the need for a different approach to handle the situation and to help doctors to be forewarned against prospective patients, particularly those who go from one doctor to the other without payment of debts. We have devised a website in which a database is to be developed of the credit history of the non-payment of accounts by patients, which will then be available to doctors if they subscribe to and enter onto the database. We trust that it will also stimulate patients to be more conscientious about the payment of medical accounts once they are aware of the existence of the website. |
